Recently, the Lego Star Wars sets for summer 2016 got their leaked images.
The sets will release around August 2016 and will feature the following sets:
- 75151 Clone Turbo Tank
- 75150 Darth Vader’s Tie Advanced vs A-Wing Starfighter
- 75149 Resistance X-Wing Fighter
- 75145 Eclipse Fighter
- 75148 Encounter on Jakku
- 75157 Captain Rex’s AT-TE Walker
About the images
First of all, I don’t really get why we’re getting a Turbo Tank (again) around this time, but as far as I can see, it comes with a Commander Gree, Quinlan Vos, Luminara Unduli and a pair of Battle Droids as minifigures.
Next, we have the Vader’s Tie Advanced vs A-wing set, which comes with Sabine and her new hair color, An A-wing pilot, and a certain Rebellion General.
Also included is Darth Vader, but again with his original Lego helmet (although I’m not 100% certain about that).
We also get an other Resistance X-Wing fighter that represents the one from the first setting (Jakku) with a Poe Dameron and Lor San Tekka as well as a Flametrooper.
This Eclipse Fighter is a mystery to me unfortunately. I haven’t seen anything like it before and it would be nice if someone could share an image of the source material.
The Encounter on Jakku set is one that looks pretty cool. It seems like most of the important characters we’ve seen on Jakku will be included in this set such as Unkar Plutt, Teedo and his Luggabeast as well as the famous Rey and BB-8.
Last, but certainly not least, is Rex’s AT-TE from the Star Wars Rebels Series and isn’t just another AT-TE release. It is a fully customized one with a deck and cranes. The characters included in the set,will be all of the “old clones” (Rex, Wolffe and Gregor) will be included as well as the Fifth Brother (inquisitor) and a Stormtrooper.
On the images there is also an other big ship visible, but I don’t know the set name unfortunately, so if you know that, please let me know.
As usual, Lego will also release a Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar for 2016 this time. The special thing is that we don’t seem to get a Santa Figure (like Yoda, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, C-3PO before). Instead, we get a white Chewie figure that represents a Yeti.
Verdict
My favorite set that was shown in these images might be the encounter on Jakku, however I really like the custom AT-TE as well because that set might be the most unique one we’ll be getting in a while.
