The Future of Mafex Star Wars – Preview

Over the last few days, Mafex released a few product images of future releases. I must say, I’m really excited. Especially for the Star Wars figures of course, and that’s what we will talk about in this article.

First of all. I’m super excited that Mafex is doing a Rey figure. It’s good for the competition, and I have been waiting for a long time to get/see an import version of her. It looks like it comes with a pretty amazing set of accessories as well. Her Desert mask, the rebel pilot helmet, her staff, gun and even the lightsaber.
The figure looks good as well, which only makes this a must have for any Star Wars fan.

Next is a sort of rerelease of Darth Vader. This time with minor adjustments to fit the Episode 3 needs. The most obvious changes are the different shoulder pads (and chest plate) and different colors for the buttons on his chest-box. It also features a new, fresh scarred Anakin head sculpt, and will probably be a full gloss (maybe fully symmetrical as well) helmet as that’s what makes the Episode 3 helmet stand out from the “ANH” or “ESB/ROTJ” versions.

Last but not least is the Holographic Darth Vader figure. it’s basically the exact same figure that we’ve got already, but this time in translucent blue colors to represent a hologram. the only difference I see here is a new cape, that is required to get a translucent blue look,
and perhaps a new headsculpt that will not open up, however that’s not certain.

Overall, I can’t wait to get my hands on this Rey figure, and this also makes me think that S.H.Figuarts might come up with their version around the same period as well.

The EP3 Vader is interesting as well, because this version of Darth Vader has the least amount of different figures as well, and it’s the first 6″ scale iteration as well.

I’m not so sure what to expect fron the Hologram though. It’s nice to see that we have that option now, but I’m usually not really into these type of figures.

Is there anything I missed or something you want to know/see more about?
